Domestic violence

Domestic Violence is defined by the government as:

“Any incident of threatening behaviour, violence or abuse (psychological, physical, sexual, financial or emotional) between adults who are, of have been, intimate partners or family members, regardless of gender or sexuality.”

We understand domestic violence is an emotional and tense issue, at Hattin Solicitors we have experience in dealing with these cases with the upmost empathy and sensitivity, tailoring our advice to meet your needs.

Depending on the severity of the issue we may only have to write a warning letter. However where the situation is more complicated there are orders we can seek through the court:

Occupation Order
An occupation order regulates who can live in the property and it also restricts your abuser from entering the surrounding area.

Non – molestation order
This court order ensures your health, safety and wellbeing by preventing your partner/ex-partner/acquaintance from using or threatening to use violence against you or a loved one.
